Jioufen(九份)

The origins of nine names of the place, it is that the traffic in the past is

inconvenient, the goods and materials must be transported from the seaport under the

mountain here such as article for daily use, rice goods, fish, goods,etc., because

initial to have nine household live while being local, so goods and materials goods to

transport to mountain must be divided into nine, therefore gain the name. Jioufen , is

a small town in north Taiwan.. Until the 1950's, Jiufen was a prosperous gold mining

town. The quaint streets, tea houses and stunning views of the Pacific Ocean , coal

mining andlocal snack - Yuyuan, <芋圓> a delicacy made of taro. Also, In addtion,

Jioufen offers a famous scene - YingYang Sea, <陰陽海> where the ocean exhibits

two different colors unusually.
